Raphael Pannier is a 25 years old drummer and percussionist currently based in New-York City. Born in France in 1990, he started playing drums at age 5, and playing professionally at age 13, with the local musicians around Paris. At age 19, he got awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. He graduated with a Performance Degree, studying with some of the best teachers in the world: Terri Lyne Carrington, Ralph Peterson Jr, Hal Crook, Dave Samuels, and many many others.

At Berklee, Raphael met the jazz pianist Emil Afrasiyab, a national artist from Azerbaidjan, with whom he started touring from 2013 to 2015. Raphael started then an international career, playing in jazz festivals such as Montreal (Canada), Baku (Azerbaidjan), Paraty (Brazil), Paris (France), Las Palmas (Spain), and venues such as the Carnegie Hall (NYC), the Kennedy Center (Washington DC), the Kursaal of Berne (Switzerland), the Apollo Theater (NYC) and so on.

Raphael has the rare ability to play many different styles of music at a high level: he played with renowned masters such as Steve Wilson (jazz), Bob James (fusion), and Marcos Valle (Brazilian).

In 2015, Raphael started his Master Degree at Manhattan School of Music, in NYC, under the wing of renowned educator John Riley. In 2016, he has been awarded a full scholarship to follow the very competitive Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program, led by Jason Moran and Eric Harland. He also recently won the first prize for the "Six Strings Theory Competition" organized by guitarist Lee Ritenour, with whom he will tour this coming August, playing different festivals in California, USA, and finishing at the Blue Note Tokyo, in Japan.
